The collaboration

Singapore (2 May 2008)—Local newspaper Today reported on Sun Ho’s latest collaboration with Grammy Award-winning pop icon Olivia Newton-John. The pair recorded a song entitled “Isn’t It Amazing” for the album Songs of Hope and Inspiration: Olivia and Friends to raise funds for cancer patients.

This humanitarian initiative by Olivia involves a project called “The Great Walk to Beijing” where Olivia and a team of celebrities, athletes and Olympians will go on a 21-day walk in China. The album also features other music artistes like Keith Urban, Richard Marx and Cliff Richard.

The duo recorded their tracks separately with Sun doing hers in US and Olivia in Australia. The duo eventually met to put the finishing touches to the track at Wyclef Jean’s studio in New York.

Sun takes on the Olympic hymn

On 29 February 2008, The Beijing Olympics launched its travelling exhibition “Olympic Philately & Cultural Tour” with the officiating ceremony held at the grand Royal Theatre within the famed Forbidden City.During the ceremony, the Olympic Hymn was sung for the first time ever in Mandarin, and taking on the honoured role was our very own Sun!Shining in a beautiful yellow qipao (cheongsam) and accompanied by a choir of Overseas Chinese from 16 different nationalities, Sun performed beautifully and mesmerised the crowd present with her pitch-perfect rendition of the Hymn. Three cheers for Sun! 

Not only were the key leaders of the International Olympic Committee present, but also watching her perform were many other important officials from the Ministry of Culture, Chinese Olympic Committee and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.When interviewed, Sun told leading global provider of breaking news Reuters that, as an overseas Chinese, she was very proud of China hosting the Olympics and it was important to believe in ourselves no matter what others may say. The event was also broadcast and reported on other major news service providers, Phoenix, Channel News Asia and CCTV.Wow! Sun is on the move!

Sun’s been traveling and busy with a lot of things. It’s very challenging but very rewarding. Sun performed with Wyclef on stage and He wanted Sun to constantly change the way Sun is towards the role as a GEISHA. Its a very good motivation for Sun and she hope that the fans can get to see this.Sun is doing an MTV together with Wyclef. His new song “Fast Car”. And before going with Wycelf to L.A, Sun will be attending a fashion show in Bryant park and then a award show. She also got massager to help her relief stress! Haha..Sun is involve in a Olympic event in China, She will be in China for the month of Feb and April and hopefully she can be back to visit Singapore and Taiwan!

2008 for Sun!
